Dr Michael Gifford
Responsibilities
Michael joined NIAB as Director of Commercialisation in March 2019. His role is to develop revenue streams based on the research and intellectual property being developed within NIAB. Within this he manages much of the SME engagement, is active in developing spin-out opportunities and is leading the development of Barn4, a new agri-tech incubator on NIAB’s campus in Cambridge.
Bethan Postle
Responsibilities
Beth is the Corporate Events Officer, based within the Communications Team in Cambridge. Her responsibilities include co-ordinating, managing and delivering NIAB corporate and major project events (in person and virtual), managing display and graphics materials, website content management, facilitating online training courses and other communication support.
Beth has a Bachelor of Communication Studies, major in PR, minor in Journalism (AUT University, 2010) and a National Certificate in Business - First Line Management (WINTEC, 2017).
Kevin Middleton
Part of the communications team based in Cambridge, Kevin manages NIAB's social media channels, writes and edits marketing marterials and can often be found at helping at NIAB's events.
Having worked in the scientific charity sector for nearly 15 years, his experience covers copywiting and editing for both digital platforms and print, digital content production and science communications.

Dr Richard Harrison was appointed as the Director of Cambridge Crop Research in May 2019.

Nick Watson
Nick manages the service delivery from NIAB’s Field Trial, Glasshouse and Laboratory teams covering agricultural and horticultural crop species. He ensure NIAB works with industry to find solutions for the efficacy testing or evaluation of their material, technology or variety, ensures projects are run efficiently, cost effectively and successfully and acts as the channel for new customers to rapidly get connected with the correct specialist and determine their needs.

Ros manages and produces NIAB’s PR and communications, conveying all aspects of work carried out by NIAB, through various channels including events, web, social media, publications and press, to meet member and stakeholder needs.
