Research interests

Marzena joined NIAB EMR in 2013 as an Assistant Plant Breeder , and then she was involved in all aspects of raspberry, cherry and rootstock for apples and pear breeding programmes. In 2018 she became as a Plant Breeder, primarily involved in all aspects of the cherry breeding programme, including project managing the East Malling Cherry Group (EMCG). Marzena remained to be involved with raspberry breeding, principally in the assessment and selection of elite lines for the East Malling Rubus Breeding Consortium including new variety release. She completed her MSc in Horticulture, specialising in fruit growing in Poland. Since then she has worked in the fruit industry with 12+ years of experience, which includes work at James Hutton Institute and Angus Soft Fruits in Scotland.
